The 8th stage of the tour is marked by the 3rd place of the Eritrean Nahom Zerai
Finally! It was not until the 8th stage of the Tour of Rwanda 2021 to see an African cyclist on the podium.
Yet it is an 18-year-old Eritrean who achieves the feat. His name is Nahom Zerai who completed the 75.3 km this Sunday in 2h05mn20sec. He arrives behind Christian Rodriguez (2h05mn06sec) and James Paccoli.
Nahom Zerai, for his part, has progressed at virtually every stage since the start of the competition. The young cyclist had, in fact, finished 53rd in the inaugural stage. Ninth in the general classification, the young cyclist is the best placed African rider.
