Towards an end to the crisis within the Burundian Basketball Federation
After several attempts at mediation by the two camps disputing the presidency of the Burundi basketball federation; FEBABU in acronym, fans of the orange ball are impatiently awaiting this next weekend as a rendezvous of grace for this game.
Soon two years, an unprecedented crisis is eating away at Burundian basketball at the federal level, two committees are in charge of business. The former executive committee headed by Mr. Kararuza Augustin, recognized by the National Olympic Committee and other international basketball bodies as well as the new executive committee headed by Mr. Seif Sabushimike, which is recognized by state bodies including the ministry having sport in its attributions.
Since then, this ministry has initiated a crisis committee which should come to terms with this anarchy which continues, a general assembly which has as mission to rule on the new statutes of the federation as well as the electoral code has just been convened for this Sunday. from 23 June 2021.
Fans and analysts of sport in general and basketball in particular remain optimistic that this meeting could be a good sign for the revival of a good climate within the governing bodies of Burundian basketball.
