Mali, through its Minister of Youth and Sports, Mossa Ag Attaher, promises to raise  the March 26 stadium in Bamako to the standards set by CAF to host the qualifications of the World-2022.

CAF has just postponed the holding of the qualifying matches for the World Cup until September and October 2021. We will make all arrangements so that, by then, the Eagles can play their matches in their 26-March Stadium. “, Declared the Minister , this Thursday, May 6, at the end of the site visit.

The March 26 stadium will be getting a makeover.  Several of its compartments will be renovated: in particular the lawn, notice boards, grandstands, elevator, toilets, plumbing installations, locker rooms …

I am very satisfied with the progress of the work as well as the quality of the equipment installed and being installed  ,” Mossa Ag Attaher told the press.  I want to reassure the Malian football world that my department will do everything in its power to ensure that our stadium can meet the various requirements of CAF and FIFA as soon as possible.

CAF recently declared the stadiums of some twenty countries on the continent non-compliant to host the qualifications for the next World Cup.  To allow them to receive their matches at home,  the governing body of continental football has postponed the first home matches of the selections concerned  .  These were initially planned for next June
