Algeria celebrating its goal against Niger
Niger hosted Algeria on Tuesday, October 12, as part of the 4 th day of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. Belmadi’s men won 4-0.
Algeria had to win to regain first place. It was indeed occupied by Burkina Faso after its victory (2-0) against Djibouti on Monday 11.
The Nigeriens made a good start to the match, however. They put on impact and use the speed of their attackers to put Algeria in difficulty.
But the Algerians gradually regained control of the match. This is also reflected by a goal from captain Riyad Mahrez the 20 th minute. A goal that comes after a nice combination and an assist from Baghdad Bounedjah.
The Fennecs thus began to fully dominate the match. Islam Slimani even doubled the score in the 34 th minute. It is on this score of 2-0 that the two teams join the locker room.
The second half started with a bang as the Algerians scored two entry goals. Bennacer first in the 47 th , then Bounedjah in the 54 th minute. The match will end 4-0.
Algeria therefore takes back the controls of this Group A (10 pts), ahead of Burkina on goal difference.
