Wydad takes the 130th Casablanca derby and heads for the title
Beating Raja twice in the same season is therefore the prowess of Wydad de Casablanca. The Reds won, this Saturday July 3, at Complexe Mohammed V, the second Casa derby of the season, taking their distance in the race for the title.
After opening the scoring by Ayoub El Amloud, Wydad conceded the equalizer on a penalty converted by Soufiane Rahimi. But, the Reds made good use of a counter concluded by Zouhair El Moutaraji on a nice serve from Ayoub El Kaâbi.
With nine points ahead, the WAC (57 points) has almost a hand and a few fingers on the trophy, because there are only five days left to complete the loop.
Raja seems to have said goodbye to the title and will have to try to keep his place as runner-up. For the defending champion, two finals are still to be played to save the season: the CAF Cup and the Arab Cup
