CECAFA U23 tournament: Burundi in the final

The Burundi national team under 23 qualifies for the final of the CECAFA tournament which takes place in Ethiopia.

Jimmy Ndayizeye’s players have indeed just eliminated Kenya on Tuesday, July 27. After a goalless draw, the two teams went straight to the penalty shoot-out. Burundi, more skilful, won 4-2 this year. Burundian goalkeeper Onésime Rukundo saves two penalties and has therefore contributed a lot to the success of his team.

In the final, Burundi will play against its neighbor Tanzania. In the semifinals, the Tanzanians beat South Sudan (1-0)
