LDC – CAF: stop for Mamelodi in Al-Hilal
Sudan again to defeat South Africa, but this time in interclub competition. Indeed, the Mamelodi Sundowns drop their first points in the group stage of the Champions League (LDC) CAF on the lawn of Al-Hilal (0-0). It is in a match counting for the 5th day of group B.
A draw without consequence, however, for the champions of South Africa who still remain leaders. Better, the band at the goalkeeper Ricardo Goss , who could count on his post not to cash, remains undefeated. The Sundowns remained on a four-game winning streak.
But, already qualified, the South Africans probably had in mind to wash away the affront suffered by the Bafana Bafana last Sunday. But, as in the CAN 2021 qualifiers, the Al-Hilal stadium in Omdurman was also impregnable.
In the end, Mamelodi remains a comfortable leader ahead of Al-Hilal. But the Sudanese can be overtaken by CR Belouizdad or TP Mazembe (DRC). Indeed, the Algerians and the Congolese face each other this evening at 19:00.
